Description:
A rare sterling silver and azur-malachite "Arrow" necklace by William Spratling (1900-1967). Spratling, who worked in Taxco, Mexico, designed this impressive necklace after his return from Alaska where he became influenced by Northwest Coast Native American art. The pendant alone measures 3 1/2" long by 1 1/2" wide. With the chain element, the necklace is 23" long. it weighs 4.99 troy oz. The necklace is illustrated in "William Spratling and The Mexican Revolution" by Penny Morrill, p.242.
