Description:
A pottery bowl by Pablo Picasso (1881-1973). Titled "Personnages This terre de faience bowl is partially glazed and painted red, brown and black. It shows seven alternating male and female figure each presenting a bouquet of olive leaves to one another. This rare bowl, of which there were only 100 made, is unusual for Picasso. Most of his ceramic work was designed for a plate or a pitcher. Here he capitalizes on the depth of the bowl to design multiple full length figures.
